Our
ability to clearly speak and accurately hear can enhance or seriously
derail workplace relationships. In this highly interactive workshop,
participants learn how the intention behind our words can be
misinterpreted due to internal and external filters. Not only can these
filters negatively impact face-to-face interactions, but even more so
in emails, conference calls, and virtual team meetings. We will discuss
and practice active listening, paraphrase, perception checking, and
other skills to improve participants’ ability to clearly communicate
with others.
Trusting Your Way to Higher Productivity
Nothing
impacts an organization’s overall productivity more than the level of
trust found within it. According to author Stephen M. R. Covey, when
trust goes down speed also goes down and costs go up. Conversely, as
trust goes up speed goes up and costs go down. In this interactive
workshop we discuss how self trust, relationship trust, and
organizational trust can increase overall productivity and directly
affect the bottom line. We explore how your specific organization can
build and expand the trust currently within it and find new ways to
foster ongoing trust.
Optimal Team Performance
Building
a highly functional and high performing work team is the goal of all
groups, but achieving this is easier said than done. According to a
recent survey, the most critical elements for team effectiveness are
listening skills, trust, the ability to establish actionable items,
group facilitation skills, consensus-seeking skills, cultural
awareness, and a sense of humor. In this highly customized series, we
begin where your team is currently stuck or held back from being fully
effective. We then build a plan tailored to meet your needs and conduct
ongoing training to optimize your team’s performance.
Optimizing Virtual Teams
More
work teams are geographically dispersed than ever before. This can make
it especially difficult to work effectively due to logistics, limited
communication signals, lack of relationship building, and other
challenges. Effective teams have a high degree of trust, respect,
cooperation, commitment, and great communication. Achieving these
qualities without face-to-face interaction can be extremely hard. In
this workshop, participants will learn techniques and strategies for
improving overall team performance in spite of the technological
constraints that enable virtual teams to exist.
